Youth Pool
What is the Youth Pool?
Teams that plan to call up youth players on permit can now use the Youth Pool, which makes the process much easier. Once youth players are registered by their parent or guardian in the Youth Pool, coaches can call them up to their team for specific games. Notifications are automatically sent out to the player’s coach, the youth district and to the FVSL Registrar for approvals. No more PDFs having to be sent and signed by all!
How do players register to youth pool?
The parent/guardian goes through the standard registration process to register their child. If they are new players, they need to click 'New User' and create a user login and password. After logging in, they must select Youth Pool from the Division pulldown. They don’t need a key code, because they are NOT registering to a team. They are registering to Youth Pool. They must complete the registration form and pay $20. The player is then fully registered in Youth Pool.
How do I call up a youth player to my team?
You can call up a youth player from the Youth Pool for a specific scheduled game. On your team page, find the game and click the Call-up link. It will show you the ICP (Intra Club Callup) rules and a list of ICP call ups you could add to your team for that game. Below these, you will see drop downs for youth permits. If a youth player has been permitted for this game, he will appear in this list. Choose the player or players you want and click Post. This sends out notifications to the player’s coach, the youth district, and the FVSL registrar asking for approvals.
What happens when the youth call-up is approved?
The player is automatically added to your game-day roster, with a yts (youth to senior) beside the player’s name. The youth player will also have their very own ID card which will show up on your ID card deck and with an yts beside it.
What happens when the youth call-up is declined?
If anyone in the chain of approvals declines to accept the permit, the permit will not happen. Emails will go to all parties. Usually, there will be a note explaining why the permit has been declined.
Do I need paperwork to show the match official?
No, just your printed game-day rosters and your ID cards on your smart phone or tablet.
Do all my team staff have to have valid CRCs to call-up youth players?
Absolutely yes. If any team staff on your roster does not have approved CRC status, you cannot call up youth players.
